Assists the implementation of the regional volunteer recruitment plan by performing volunteer recruitment activities to attract a skilled, talented and diverse volunteers workforce to service in all lines of business around the organization.

Responsibilities:

Assists in the development and implementation of volunteer workforce recruitment activities. Recruits volunteers for all lines of service and departments. Meets with Volunteer Management team to determine targeted recruitment needs in the region. Proactively recruits new volunteers for general and specific volunteer opportunities. Recruits current volunteers for new opportunities and leadership positions. Researches outreach events and fairs. Reaches out to community groups to set up recruitment presentations. Plans and carries out recruitment events in communities served by the region, for both identified partner groups and open-call interest meetings. Promotes volunteer opportunities at community events. Advertises and markets for open-call events.

Qualifications: willing to learn a broad understanding of the American Red Cross and its opportunities for volunteer service. Enthusiastic about Red Cross mission and programs. The ability to learn how to effectively communicate Red Cross mission and activities in a manner that is both attractive and realistic.

Youth Engagement Lead

Description:

The Youth Engagement Lead serves as a peer and confidante working collaboratively with the regional Volunteer.

Services team, specifically the Engagement Specialist, to support National Youth Strategy goals and objectives to educate and engage youth in all aspects of the Red Cross mission.

Responsibilities:

Develop and execute an implementation work plan outlining objectives, strategies, and tactics supporting the 5 pillars of the National Youth Strategy (Learning, Blood Donors, Fundraising, International Humanitarian Law and Social Engagement) and regional youth engagement priorities. Identify and assess opportunities for youth engagement in the 5 pillars of youth engagement Collaborate with Engagement Specialist to create realistic targets, focused on delivering results in the 5 pillars of youth engagement Empower youth volunteerism and leadership by building connections between youth and the Red Cross mission Work closely with Engagement Specialist to integrate youth into Red Cross programs and activities Develop/build a team of skilled volunteers, including Red Cross Club Coordinators; build rapport with youth engagement team and youth volunteers to better support their growth and development Key Involvement in Ad Hoc projects (both tactical and strategic) when required.

Qualifications:

• Maintain strict confidentiality of any case notes, names and other personal information in accordance with Red Cross policies
• Understand and apply Service to Armed Forces (SAF) policies, procedures and protocols related to Red Cross client services consistently and correctly
• Support the follow up process to include making follow-up calls to military members and/or families to determine if their needs are met, providing other follow-up actions needed for complete and timely client service
• Acquire a working knowledge of local, state and federal resources aiding military members, families and veterans
• Maintain professionalism and conduct as stated in Red Cross policy

Description:

The Recovery Services Client Care Program allows the Red Cross to rapidly meet disaster-caused needs by enabling clients to apply and receive financial assistance and/or community resources.

The Client Care Program Service Associate supports the recovery of disaster affected individuals, households, and communities by providing referrals, advocacy, and financial assistance through RC Care (case management system).

Responsibilities:

Conduct Intake by interviewing the client and opening a case in RC Care
Provide Financial Assistance to qualified clients.
Conduct Follow-up and Recovery Planning Services
Provide Internal Referrals
Provide Community Referrals
Assist with problem-solving and advocacy on request
Use RC Care to document services according to the Client Care Program Standards and Procedures
Services may be provided in person or virtually.

Qualifications:

Required:

Willing and able to volunteer in person in before, during and/or after a disaster event Ability to work in a continuously changing environment in which work priorities may change frequently Comfortable interacting with people from various diverse background whose lives have been disrupted and many are presenting immediate needs Kind, caring, resourceful and knowledgeable Comfortable learning new online case management systems Experience using Microsoft Office products Able to serve the client with care, comfort and concern Able to recognize the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization Ability to stand and/or sit for two-hour periods Ability to speak clearly on phone and in person Ability to work for long periods on computer and/or reading small print and/or writing Valid Driver’s License (required for Divisional and National Deployments) Minimum 18 years of age Available to sign up for shifts on consecutive days (shifts may be 4, 8 or 12 hours long) Willing to complete 9 hours of virtual self-paced training required for position Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English

Shelter Service Associate: During large disasters, you can support the day-to-day activities within a shelter which may include working in reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information or other areas within a shelter. Free online training will be provided. If the need arises, volunteers are asked to commit to multiple local shifts of 4-12 hours each. For those able to travel outside of their local area, a commitment of at least 14 consecutive days, working 8- or 12-hour shifts is required.

Volunteer Recruitment Lead

 Description:

Implements the Volunteer Recruitment strategy and plan for the region in coordination with the Regional Volunteer Services Officer and Volunteer Services Specialists
• Builds a regional recruiting team that can execute the recruitment plan and ensure targeted, proactive recruitment for high priority positions
• Serves as a subject matter expert on volunteer recruitment
• Develops a recruitment network throughout the region using internal and external partners
• Works with departments to recruit current volunteers for new opportunities and leadership positions
• Equips departments with tools they need to make a pitch for volunteering when they are out in the community talking about the Red Cross
• Manages research, planning and execution of recruitment events

Disaster Health Services Team: During large disasters, you can use your professional skills as a licensed healthcare provider to deliver hands on care and education to shelter residents. Free online training will be provided and can count towards nursing continuing education units. If the need arises, volunteers are asked to commit to multiple local shifts of 4-12 hours each. For those able to travel outside of their local area, a commitment of at least 10-14 consecutive days, working 8- or 12-hour shifts is required. Qualified licenses include RN, LPN, LVN, EMT, Paramedic, MD, DO, PA, NP, APRN. Only RNs have full scope of practice.
