Who We Are
At Care Initiatives Hospice, we believe that every person deserves comfort, dignity, and peace in life’s final chapter. We provide physical, emotional, and spiritual care for individuals with a life expectancy of six months or less who are no longer seeking aggressive treatment, focusing instead on symptom management and quality of life.
Our care philosophy is rooted in the understanding that emotional and spiritual pain can be just as real as physical pain—and addressing all of these needs is essential to truly compassionate hospice care. Using an interdisciplinary team approach, we walk alongside patients and their loved ones, honoring their wishes and supporting them every step of the way.
Care Initiatives Hospice is part of the Care Initiatives network—the largest not-for-profit senior care provider in Iowa—serving more than 3,000 older Iowans each year. We are accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP) and are active members of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Iowa (HPCAI).
What We Do
Our mission is simple yet profound: To deliver high-quality, coordinated care with compassion, respect, and dignity to Iowans and their families living with serious illness and loss.
We work closely with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure comfort, connection, and dignity. Whether in a private home, nursing facility, or assisted living community, our team provides individualized support tailored to each person’s needs and wishes—helping patients live as fully as possible, for as long as possible.
