Who We Are

Ottumwa HFH has provides new and rehabbed homes to lower income families in Wapello County since 1991. We strive to provide simple adequate housing to those individuals who can not get a traditional home loan. Our funding has come from local churches, civic organizations and grants. We are a Christian based group of volunteers who provide our time and labor to procure housing opportunities and build homes for our partner families. We are in need of board members and committee members for our organization. Committees would include: Family Nurturance, Family Selection, Construction Committee and Volunteers Committee. The goals would include shortening the time that it takes to build or rehab a home and possibly include building numerous homes per year. We need a base of volunteers who can help with all of the aspects noted above.

What We Do

Our mission is to witness the Christian Gospel by building affordable homes in partnership with God's people in need. Our vision for the future is to be a productive environment in which diverse collaborations of individuals, departments and organizations insure that everyone has a decent place to live.
